A constant is a term that has no variable. Since a constant has no variable, the value of the constant will remain fixed or never change.
Constants can be found in math equations, mathematical expressions, formulas, ...
1. For the polynomial expression 6a^{3} + 4a^{2} + a - 8, the constant is -8
2. For the quadratic equation a^{2} + 3a + 2 = 0, the constant is 2
3. For the linear equation 2x - 6 = 9, the constants are -6 and 9
4. For the circumference formula C = πD, the constant is π = 3.14
