Definition of Right Angle

A right angle is an angle that measures exactly 90 degrees. The figure below is an example of a right angle.

You could try to visualize a right angle as being formed by intersecting a horizontal line with a vertical line. 

Did you notice the special red symbol? This symbol indicates that the angle is a right angle. 

Be careful!




If you do not see that special symbol and it is not stated somewhere that the angle is a right angle, you cannot conclude that it is even if it looks like a right angle.
